The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced the arrest of a terrorist network linked to Israel's Mossad spy agency in Khorasan Razavi province, over their involvement in spying and carrying out activities inside Iran during Israel's recent 12-day aggression against the country.

The IRGC's intelligence forces in Khorasan Razavi said in a statement that they had conducted a targeted operation in coordination with the Judiciary in the northeastern province and successfully apprehended eight operatives linked to Mossad and collaborating with separatist groups.

The statement said the terrorists had received online "specialized training" and been involved in sending the "coordinates of vital and sensitive facilities" as well as "information on high-profile military figures" to Mossad officers.

"Based on available documents, the arrested individuals intended to design and execute operations against national and military officials, as well as to sabotage important centers in Mashhad, but they were arrested under [the IRGC's] full intelligence oversight before any operational action," the statement said.

"According to available documents, the detained individuals had been planning operations targeting senior state and military officials, as well as attacks on key sites in the holy city of Mashhad," the statement said.

"They were arrested before carrying out any action, thanks to full intelligence surveillance," it added.

Security forces also seized materials intended for the manufacture of launchers, bombs, explosives, and booby traps from the network, it noted.

According to the statement, the terrorists were in contact with separatist groups as well.

The IRGC underlined that the arrests highlighted the vigilance and operational readiness of its intelligence units in safeguarding national security against foreign espionage and sabotage efforts.

The Israeli regime launched a blatant and unprovoked onslaught against Iran on June 13, triggering a 12-day war that killed at least 1,064 people in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.

The United States also joined the war days later by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites in a grave violation of international law.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces targeted strategic sites across the occupied territories as well as the al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia.

On June 24, Iran, through its successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the US, managed to impose a halt to the terrorist aggression.
