Iran gains self-sufficiency in building drones

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Head Iran's Aviation Industry Organization Manouchehr Manteqi said the country has obtained self-sufficiency in manufacturing and building drones.
'We have gained self-sufficiency in producing and building drones. If other countries need production and design of drones, Iranian experts will meet their needs in two years,' Manteqi said in the 7th International Air and Aviation Exhibition in Kish Island, southern Iran.
He also said Iran has managed to master helicopters cable of carrying two to six people, and it is also after designing helicopters capable of carrying 8 people.
Manteqi also said the country has overhauled 1500 helicopters locally, and has successfully tested them.
Iran unveiled four types of home-made drones to be used for trade, environment monitoring, training and tourism in the exhibition started on Tuesday.
