American spy sentenced to death

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA -- The Islamic Revolution Court branch 15 on Monday sentenced US spy, Amir Mirzaie Hekmati, to death.
Judiciary spokesman office said the branch, chaired by judge Salavati, has issued the death sentence against Hekmati for collaboration with the hostile government of the US and his membership in the CIA as well as trying to level terrorism charges against Iran.
The court found the defendant Mohareb (caught red-handed in armed struggle against God) and corrupt on earth.
The court looking into Hekmati case had been held on December 27.
Based on the bill of indictment, issued by Tehran prosecutor, Hekmati has been subject to the death sentence on account of the reports of the Legal and Judicial Director General of the Espionage Campaign Department of Iran’s Intelligence Ministry as well as the defendant’s own confessions.
In the proceedings Hekmati said he had the motivation to infiltrate Iranian intelligence system on behalf of the CIA.
