US spy goes on trail at Tehran Revolutionary Court

Tehran, Dec 27, IRNA -- Detained US spy Amir Mirzaei Hekmati went on trial in the branch 15 of Tehran Revolutionary Court on Tuesday.
The court was chaired by judge Salavati in presence of representative of the Tehran prosecutor, defendant and his attorney in branch 15.
According to the report, the indictment against the defendant was read out and then he began to defend himself,
The defendant confessed to his offenses but claimed he had been deceived and had no intention of taking action against the country.
After the court hearing, the judge declared that the final verdict will be issued after the defendant submits his defense documents.
Amir Mirzaei Hekmati, 28, resident iof Michigan, the US, was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces on charges of spying and cooperation with the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
