L-3 Achieves U.K. Integrated Broadcast Service Program Milestone for On-Budget Performance, Ahead of Schedule
NEW YORK, Jun 16, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has achieved a significant performance milestone in support of a high-priority United Kingdom intelligence project. The company's STRATIS business, which is part of L-3's Services Group, in its role as the prime contractor for the Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) program, has been recognized for achieving the project's in-service date within budget and ahead of schedule.
"L-3 is a market leader in providing mission-critical intelligence solutions that enable situational awareness and provide actionable intelligence, and we are proud to have achieved this milestone," said Les Rose, president of STRATIS. "We see exciting opportunities to migrate the innovative technology developed for the IBS program into new market spaces and partner with leading companies on similar projects."
The program utilizes advanced satellite and computer technology to develop a secure communications infrastructure and data dissemination system.
