Five arrested in Tehran on espionage charges
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Oct 13, IRNA -- Five persons were arrested on espionage charges in the Iranian capital, Tehran's Prosecutor of the Public and Revolution Court Abbas Ja'fari-Dolatabadi said Wednesday.
He said that the arrested people were related to foreign countries, including the US.
'Americans have started efforts to this end,' said the prosecutor during a local gathering here.
He added that the five had sent important information to enemies of Iran about the country's military, space, economic and judicial activities.
Stressing that the enemy was not only looking for information in those areas, J'afari-Dolatabadi urged all executive organizations to stay vigilant and highly check operation of their staff as 'enemies are looking for detailed information' about every move of the Iranian government.
