Body found in London flat of British spy
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
London, Aug 25, IRNA -- British police have launched a murder investigation into the death of an unidentified man found in a large sports bag at the London flat of a missing MI6 intelligence agent.
A post-mortem examination of the body, believed to have been there for several days, was also being carried out Wednesday to establish the cause of the mystery death.
The death was reported by the Daily Mail, suggesting that the man, described to be in his late 30s, was employed as a communications officer at the government's GCHQ monitoring service, but was as on secondment to MI6 secret intelligence agency, whose headquarters are near the flat.
But according to the Guardian, a police source stressed that with the body yet to be formally identified, the person killed could be “an air conditioning technician rather than a spy.'
'If he really was a spy, you imagine someone would have reported him missing rather sooner,' the source added.
