Egyptian arrested on espionage for Zionist regime

Beirut, June 3, IRNA – An Egyptian national was arrested in southern Lebanon charged with spying for the Zionist regime, it was reported here on Tuesday.
The man was arrested when he was apparently working in a farm in southern Lebanon, said the country’s public security organization in a statement.
The arrest was made in line with the recent trend of detaining those who were spying for the Zionist regime in Lebanon.
The Lebanese security organization said that the man has been living in the Aita al-Shaab village in southern Lebanon since 2000.
The Lebanese security forces have also detained on Tuesday a school teacher at the Qsaibe village in Nabatiya region in the same area for similar charges.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese media reported on Tuesday that two others who were spying for Israel while working with the United Nations forces in southern Lebanon were recently arrested in the region.
During the past couple of months, more than 12 spying networks were identified in Lebanon and some 70 suspects were detained on spying charges. A number of other suspects have also fled to the occupied lands before being arrested by Lebanese security forces in the said period.
