IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, April 28, IRNA - Judiciary spokesman Alireza Jamshidi here Tuesday refuted reports on detained journalist Roxana Saberi’s hunger strike, saying she is in good health conditions.
Jamshidi made the remark while addressing reporters ahead of his departure for Belarus. He is accompanying Judiciary Head Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi.
“Saberi’s father had a meeting with her this week and gave her birthday gift,” said the spokesman.
Iran’s Revolutionary Court sentenced the Iranian national reporter, Saberi, to eight years in prison on charge of espionage.
Asked about the case of Maryam Malek, who has been detained on charges of acting against Iran’s national security, he said that a judge is investigating the case to turn the 200,000,000 Rials bail into writ of guardianship.
