CACI Awarded $38 Million Contract to Provide Program Management Support for U.S. Army Intelligence System
Company Services to Help Deliver Intelligence Data to Army Field Commanders
Arlington, VA, April 9, 2009 - CACI International Inc (NYSE:CAI) announced today that it has been awarded a $38 million prime contract to provide program management and technical engineering services support to the U.S. Army's Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A). CACI received the three-year award (one base year and two option years) under its Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract with the Army. The DCGS-A contract is new work for the company and complements CACI's long-standing history of more than 25 years of successful intelligence and electronic warfare support.
The DCGS-A integrates intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance data within a single system to streamline the Army's ability to process and disseminate this data to commanders in the field. Using this intelligence information, field commanders gain a better situational understanding of their environment. This includes visualizing and analyzing imminent threats, predicting threat intentions, and developing countermeasures.
CACI's DCGS-A team, which includes incumbent subcontractors, will develop and integrate software, and provide lifecycle management, to continuously enhance DCGS-A for warfighter support. CACI will perform budget and program financial analysis to assure costs are contained and effectively managed. The team will train users for more effective system use, and provide logistical support for optimal system deployment. The award increases both the size and scope of CACI's business in C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance).
Bill Fairl, CACI's President of U.S. Operations, said, "We are proud the U.S. Army has selected CACI to help sustain and enhance the Distributed Common Ground System-Army. Our demonstrated expertise in Army intelligence enables us to provide the highest quality of support to help Army field commanders develop the situational awareness they need to protect themselves and defeat the enemy."
According to CACI President and CEO Paul Cofoni, "CACI offers innovative and mature best practices for our government's most critical challenges. This new award with the U.S. Army expands our support for the military's most important tactical missions and enables us to increase our role in directly serving America's warfighters. We are honored to serve as the Army's trusted partner in another vital undertaking."
