
IAI's ELTA Systems Group Awarded $120 Million in Contracts for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Based IMINT Systems in 2008

Israel Aerospace Industries’ ELTA Systems Group (IAI/ ELTA) was awarded $120 million in contracts for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) based Image Intelligence (IMINT) systems in 2008, from various customers worldwide.
IAI/ELTA Systems develops and manufactures a variety of SAR based IMINT systems including space-borne radars, pods for fighter aircraft, SAR for transport aircraft and payloads for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The Group also manufactures a variety of exploitation stations for Image Intelligence (IMINT). IAI/ELTA's SAR systems produce radar images approaching photographic quality. These all–weather systems operate day and night with capabilities to penetrate clouds, rain, fog, smoke and man-made camouflage.
