Israel Aerospace Industries' Malat Division Unveils the Bird Eye 600 Advanced Mini UAV System

The Malat Division of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) unveils its new Bird Eye 600 advanced Mini UAV system at Eurosatory 2008 exhibition. The development of the new UAV system was based on the lessons-learned from the operational use of IAI's Bird Eye 400 Mini UAV system, and presents a substantial improvement in capabilities over past Mini UAV systems.
The Bird Eye 600 Mini UAV system was specially designed for field operations: its operability and maintenance are simple and comfortable, and its operational availability will be high.
The new Mini UAV system is characterized by high mission credibility and extraordinary survivability. It is meant to be deployed for tactical needs, to provide real time quality intelligence to army units and headquarters, stationary and mobile, in harsh terrain and weather conditions, day and night. Its advanced operating concept allows a crew of only two operators to fly the UAV, collect intelligence, and direct and control assault results. The operating station is fitted with advanced screens and controllers, to allow a small team of operators to operate efficiently and for long periods of time.

• Flight Ceiling – 14,000 ft.
• Range – more than 10 km
• Max. takeoff weight – 8.5 kg
• Max. payload weight – 1.5 kg
• Preparation time for mission – 15 minutes
