Aerial Espionage against DPRK Escalated in First Half of Year

   Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists and the south Korean forces committed more than 170 cases of aerial espionage against the DPRK in June, bringing the total number of cases of aerial espionage to more than 1,100 in the first half of the year, according to military sources.
    On June 27, the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces let their overseas-based RC-135 fly in the air above the areas along the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) for a long time in a bid to spy on all areas of the DPRK.
    They let two south Korea-based U-2s make simultaneous shuttle flights in the sky above the East and West Seas of Korea along the extension of the MDL day and night to perpetrate aerial observation, photographing and electronic espionage against all areas in the depth of the DPRK on June 11 and 19 each. The number of cases of aerial espionage by this type of reconnaissance plane reached at least 150 in the first half of the year alone.
    The U.S. imperialists mobilized RC-7B, RC-12, EP-3, E-3 and reconnaissance planes with various other missions and commanding planes, 4-5 on a daily average, on the 5th, 14th, 19th and 25th of June for madcap aerial espionage against the DPRK. More than 500 cases of aerial espionage were committed by RC-12 and RC-7B up to date from the beginning of the year.
    The warmongers of the south Korean forces let 2 or 3 RC-800s and RF-4Cs fly in the sky above the areas along the MDL to spy on the frontline and central areas of the DPRK everyday in June in a coordinated operation with the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces.
    Their RC-800 perpetrated a total of at least 360 cases of aerial espionage while their RF-4C committed more than 80 in the last six months.
