ELTA Systems Awarded a Contract for Airborne ELINT Systems
Jun 18, 2007
ELTA Systems Ltd, an IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd) wholly owned subsidiary, has recently been awarded a USD25 Million contract for an Airborne ELINT system. The system will be installed and integrated into a customer furnished SIGINT aircraft.
IAI ELTA Systems’ tactical and strategic long range ELINT systems are designed to handle the challenges of modern and dense environments in order to produce a real-time and accurate Electronic Order of Battle (EOB). ELTA’s airborne ESM/ELINT offerings are suitable for a wide variety of high-end airborne platforms such as SIGINT, MPA and AEW aircraft. In the words of ELTA Systems’ President, Mr. Nissim Hadas: "Our ELINT systems are platform independent and can be integrated with relative ease into a wide variety of platform types."
The system searches, intercepts, measures, analyzes, classifies and monitors ground, airborne and naval transmissions. This enables the ELTA system to deal effectively with Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) transmission sources that are normally very difficult, if not impossible, to intercept and analyze.
This ELINT system is a derivative of ELTA Systems high–end field proven SIGINT ISR systems supplied to the Israeli Defense Forces and several foreign customers.
