The Swiss Government Has Awarded IAI/ELTA Systems a Contract For The Upgrade Of Its ESM System

The Swiss Government has awarded ELTA Systems Ltd., A wholly owned subsidiary of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) in Ashdod, Israel, a contract of the value of CHF 150 million (approximately $132 million) to upgrade its existing Electronic Support Measure (ESM) System.
The contract is part of the Integrated Radio Reconnaissance and Transmission System (IFASS) that will provide its services to the Air Force, Land Forces, Command Support Organization and Civilian Authorities.
The systems upgrade will transform existing systems, provided by ELTA to the Swiss MOD in the past, into state-of-the-art systems capable of coping with modern technologies in the area of radio transmissions.
The upgraded systems will enable to perform additional tasks such as:
- Simultaneous and Independent Mission Operations
- New Threats Detection and Analysis including fast moving targets Process Automatization
This system constitutes a new approach in Intelligence Processing and Analysis and will provide services within the C4ISTAR infrastructure.
