Britain has removed its military attache from his post in Pakistan after he lost confidence of the British High Commission.
The British High Commission spokesman has confirmed the removal of Brigadier Andrew Durcan.
"We can confirm the removal of Brig Durcan from his post after an internal investigation by the British High Commission," the spokesman told IRNA, without elaborating the issue.
Britain's Sun newspaper on Wednesday alleged Durcan had formed an "inappropriate relationship" with a suspected female Pakistani spy.
"The Defence Ministry decided to replace him (Durcan) after he lost the confidence of the high commission," the spokesman added.
The Sun reported Durcan, 56, had been "tricked into a close friendship by the attractive woman".
The report said there was no evidence that classified information or British agents had been compromised.
It described the woman as a "defence academic" who was "also believed to be an undercover agent for rogue elements within Pakistan's intelligence services".
