Jun 13, 2005
An $8 million contract to develop a Real Time Intelligence Center (RICENT) has been awarded to IAI's Elta Systems Group & Subsidiary by an undisclosed customer. The system is a derivative of Elta's EL/S-8994RT RICENT.
RICENT is a modular intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) system. The EL/S-8994RT provides comprehensive integrated intelligence gathering and dissemination to all military branches.
The RICENT will provide twenty-four hour, all-weather image intelligence (IMINT) gathering capabilities. Automatic and semi-automatic software tools, developed by Elta, will assure time critical target detection, acquisition and identification.
Images will be collected by space, airborne, ground and naval-based sensors and transmitted to the RICENT. The sensor package includes synthetic aperture radar (SAR), ground moving target indication (GMTI) and electro-optical (E/O) sensors.
Elta RICENT's modularity is designed to provide a cost-effective solution for continuously upgrading the center's capabilities.
Israel Aircraft Industries, Ltd. is a leading manufacturer in the international aerospace and defense community and Israel's largest industrial exporter.
