Pakistani national arrested in Indian Capital for spying

New Delhi, Nov 26, IRNA - A Pakistani national has been arrested here on charges of alleged spying with police claiming to have recovered "sensitive defense related documents and photographs from him. According to Press Trust of India, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Ashok Chand on Friday said, "Mohd. Shagir, hailing from Lahore, Pakistan was arrested Thursday night from New Delhi railway station and sensitive documents and photographs, including pictures of the Ordnance factory in Shakur basti here, were seized from him. Chand said, Shagir who arrived in India in May, 2004 on valid travel documents, had been living here under the alias of Ajit Singh and had a forged driving license showing Sikar, Rajasthan as his permanent address. "Shagir came to India on a three-month visa, but he had stayed on after its expiry and even worked in two private companies in Delhi," he said, adding, the accused had even a film club here. 2160/1423
