German spy provides Bulgaria with top secret Mideast dossier
IRNA
Berlin, Oct 25, IRNA -- A German intelligence officer gave highly classified information on the Middle East to Bulgaria, the website of the weekly Focus news magazine reported Saturday. It quoted German intelligence sources as saying that a high-ranking official of the German foreign intelligence service BND, identified only as Ingo Sch., gave a secret dossier on the Mideast and the Balkans to Bulgaria. The 64-year-old agent who was arrested by German authorities on October 9, led a top secret BND department on the Balkan region. The German officer`s contact agent was a female Bulgarian agent who had scholarship at the prestigious Berlin-based Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The BND assisted in the rebuilding of the Bulgarian intelligence agency following the collapse of that country`s communist regime. OT/AH/210 End
