BAE SYSTEMS selected to continue supplying facilities management to Australian topographic mapping organisation
07 Aug 2002
BAE Systems has been competitively selected to continue providing facilities management for the National Mapping Division (NMD) of Geoscience Australia and the Defence Imagery and Geospatial Organisation (DIGO).
The three-year contract will encompass a broad cross-section of facilities management services to support NMD's topographic map and digital data production programs.
Under the terms of the contract, BAE Systems will be responsible for staffing, operation, maintenance and further development of the defined topographic map and digital data production services located at the NMD's facility at Bruce in the Australian Capital Territory.
Fred Eske, General Manager Support Services, BAE Systems Australia, said it was particularly pleasing to see NMD retain the company's services in open competition. He said the contract win reflected the excellent partnering relationship BAE Systems had forged with NMD at the Bruce facility.
"It is further evidence of BAE Systems' dedication to providing quality, cost-effective support services to both the civilian and defence sectors," Mr Eske said.
BAE Systems has managed these services since first being awarded the contract in August 1997.
