CACI Awarded $16.9 Million Prime Contract to Support Command and Intelligence Systems
Company to Provide Test and Evaluation, Independent Verification and Validation for Navy, Joint, and National Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C4I) Systems
Arlington, Va., September 6, 2000 -- CACI International Inc (NASDAQ:CACI) announced today that it has been awarded a five-year, $16.9 million, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity prime contract by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) San Diego, California, to support a variety of Navy, Joint Services, and national Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C4I) systems. Under the terms of the contract, CACI will broaden its test and evaluation (T&E) engineering, independent verification and validation (IV&V), software quality assurance, and configuration management (CM) support for SPAWARSYSCEN San Diego C4I programs.
C4I systems are designed to support field commanders across a range of military operations, including collecting data on adversarial forces. In today’s environment, C4I systems are key to a multitude of tasks and missions, from maintaining regional stability around the world to supporting humanitarian relief and disaster aid operations.
CACI’s award continues its 15-year history of supporting SPAWARSYSCEN San Diego, focusing on ensuring the quality of C4I products before they are operationally fielded and providing software support for fielded systems. CACI’s T&E, IV&V, software quality and CM activities provide early error detection and correction to ensure functional and performance requirements are met on time and within budget. As a Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Level 3-evaluated company, CACI offers strong software engineering process and product capabilities.
CACI, Inc. President Ken Johnson said, "CACI’s unique combination of expertise in test and evaluation, independent verification and validation, and software engineering, coupled with in-depth experience in C4 and intelligence systems, helps ensure that C4I systems delivered to the field function as designed and provide the latest in warfighting capability. Our early and unbiased detection of any design and implementation defects, together with our distinctive expertise in establishing effective software engineering processes, will enable prompt and economical correction — saving the government time and money and reducing project risk."
Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI Chairman and CEO, commented, "CACI’s prime contract award in support of Navy, Joint Services, and national C4I systems continues our outstanding relationship with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego. Our work for this important Navy client supports our growth goals and strengthens our position as a dominant provider of C4I systems software engineering and testing services to our nation’s Command and Control community."
