Pakistan rejects its alleged involvement in
Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD, Aug. 14 (APP): Pakistan on Thursday categorically rejected
its alleged involvement in the current situation in Afghanistan. "It
is regrettable that, the government controlled print and electronic media
in some countries, have been utilized in an orchestrated campaign of vilification
against Pakistan," a Foreign Office press release said here on Thursday.
History shows that the Afghans have never tolerated outside interference
in their internal affairs. "It is our earnest hope that the countries
sharing borders with Afghanistan, instead of raising alarms over a non-existent
threat will join Pakistan in promoting peace and harmony in that beleaguered
country." Pakistan has followed a principled, upright and transparent
policy throughout the Afghan conflict, the press release said and added,
it has offered its fullest cooperation and has supported all efforts including
those of the UN and OIC to bring peace to Afghanistan, and "We shall
remain steadfast to this policy."
