Prime Minister Shimon Peres said the government will implement the
recommendations contained in the Shamgar Commission's report on the
assassination of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, the Israeli
Television news program, MABAT, reported.
YEDIOT AHARONOT reported that among other recommendations, the Commission
believes that the procedure for cooperation between the General Security
Service and the police should be reevaluated.
The Commission is also recommending that the number of GSS workers
assigned to protect dignitaries be doubled.
In addition, the report contains a classified section that focuses largely
on ways in which the GSS uses and disseminates intelligence information.
