Afghanistan - December 27, 2001
This is a post-strike aerial of the Tori Khel Taliban Complex struck on Wesnesday December 26, 2001, and located near Ghazni.
According to DoD, reports seemed to indicate with enough confidence that the facility was being used by some of the Taliban leadership.
The facility was struck using both heavy bombers and tactical aircraft, and with both precision and non-precision weapons.
Initial reports on the ground suggested that as many as 40 civilians may have been killed in the airstrike, though DoD officials could not comment with certainty neither on what the source for the number of civilians involved was nor if there were any such civilians within the compound.
