Korean Light Helicopter [KLH]
Korean Light Helicopter [KLH] is developed from BO105 CBS-5 basic configuration and equipped with specific MEP (Mission Equipment Package) including communication, navigation, electronic warfare and target aquisition system to meet Korean Army's operational requirements. KLH also has greatly improved rotor blade and transmission system. The advanced technologies gained through KLH development, such as avionics system integration, test and evaluation, certification can be applicable for KMH development program or future upgrade program for obsolescent helicopters.
Ten Bo 105s were built by KAI ( Daewoo) from kits supplied by Eurocopter for the Republic of Korea Army. Two others were supplied completed. The type was selected as the winner of the Korean light helicopter program in 1998. During the development period, KAI and ECD successfully performed the avionics system integration and the test for mission performance verification for Korean Army and got the new certification from LBA (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt) at Germany. KAI delivered all the helicopters by the end of 2000.
