P-6 Class Torpedo Boat
The P-6 class is based on the Soviet Komar class torpedo boat. A few of these torpedo boats were built in the former Soviet Union and transferred to China in the late 1950s; China then built the majority at shipyards in Shanghai. Most were completed before 1966. The craft have wood hulls. The Soviet Komar Class**, upon which the Chinese Hegu-class missile craft were based, has the same hull design as the P-6. All remaining units of this class in Chinese service were stricken 1998/1999.
