Helios
Although the smallest contributor to the French-ltalian-Spanish Helios program, Spain has made a commitment to using space-based assets to bolster national security. In addition to the Helios data reception center at Maspalomas, Canary Islands, Spain hosts the Western European Union Satellite Center in Torrejon which interprets data from civil Earth observation satellites and will receive images for Helios once it becomes operational. Spain has reiterated its intention to participate in the Helios 2 program.
