Zafar 1, 2 delivered to Iran's Ministry of Information

Tehran (ISNA) – Zafar 1 and 2 satellites were delivered to Iran's Ministry of Information and Communications Technology in a ceremony with the participation of Iranian Space Agency (ISA) chief Morteza Barari.

The deal to deliver the satellites to the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology was signed on Sunday in the University of Science and Technology. In addition to Barari, the president of the University of Tehran was also in attendance.

The satellite has been designed for imaging, sending and saving messages and creating link between two users.

Preparing map of lands, basic map, civil development map, agricultural fields map, map on changes in lands natural environment and jungles, monitoring developments in seasonal and perpetual lakes, identifying damaged areas after crisis and upgrading structural maps are among mission of the satellite.

The difference between Zafar 1 and 2 is the type of their cameras and Zafar 2 is equipped with a colour camera.
