RCC "Progress" JSC held a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council on a preliminary design of a superheavy class launch vehicle

On October 18, the Progress Rocket and Space Center hosted a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council for the consideration of materials for a draft design of a superheavy class carrier rocket (LV STK).
The council was attended by representatives of Roscosmos State Corporation, RCC Progress JSC, RSC Energia PJSC, NPO Avtomatiki JSC, TsNIImash JSC, TechnoMash NPO, Agat Organization JSC, FKP "SIC RCP", JSC "Russian Space Systems".
The first deputy general designer of RCC "Progress" A.D. The watchman and the acting first deputy general designer for design and development work of PJSC RSC Energia A. V. Bukharin.
The main report on the review of the development of a preliminary design of a superheavy class launch vehicle was presented by A.A. Cherevan. He demonstrated development and calculations regarding the design of the launch vehicle, its airborne systems, assembly options and other aspects. So, in the framework of the preliminary design, a comparative analysis of the main options for creating a super-heavy carrier rocket was carried out, its technical appearance and main characteristics were substantiated, the stages and timing of the creation of the STK LV were determined.
The chief technologist S. A. Parenikov made a report on the preparation of the production base of the RCC "Progress" for the manufacture of LV STK .
Also during the meeting, reports were presented by representatives of cooperation enterprises and leading research institutes.
Members of the scientific and technical council approved the results of the development of a preliminary design of a superheavy class launch vehicle and its components. They noted that the work was carried out by the RCC "Progress" in accordance with the requirements of the technical specifications, and the presented design appearance of the STK launch vehicle ensures the fulfillment of the specified tactical and technical characteristics. Thus, the results of a preliminary design developed by the cooperative enterprises confirm the possibility of creating a launch vehicle with the requirements specified in the statement of work.
