Russia to Allocate $1.5Bln to Federal Space Program in 2017 - Draft Budget Plan

The financing of the Russia's 2016-2025 federal space program will reach some 92.5 billion rubles ($1.47 billion) in 2017, according to the draft laws database of the State Duma.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the draft law, the federal plan on the development of Russian cosmodromes will be allocated some 21 billion rubles next year.

The draft law specified that the funding of the federal space program and federal project on the development of Russian cosmodromes will be decreased in the next few years.

According to the the explanatory note to the budget, the Russia's federal space program 2016-2025 will experience a funding cut of almost 12 million rubles in comparison to the last year's level. The government proposes a 3.4-billion rubles decrease in 2018 and a 2.9-billion decrease in 2019.
