IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Arak, Markazi Prov, June 9, IRNA -- First Iran's comprehensive database for space monitoring and surveillance was inaugurated by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Sunday in this central province.

Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi and a group of the ministry's experts were also present in the inauguration ceremony of the great national project.

Vahidi told reporters that the launch of this space database is aimed at providing security for the country's space systems as well as monitoring the moving objects in the space.

This national space database not only helps manage the country's space systems but also helps other states have space satellites, said the minister.
