Ariane-5 Rocket Puts Two Telecoms Satellites into Orbit
MOSCOW, December 20 (RIA Novosti) - The Ariane-5 carrier rocket put Skynet 5D and Mexsat Bicentenario telecommunications satellites into orbit on Thursday.
The rocket with dual-satellite payload was launched at 21:49 GMT Wednesday from the Kourou space center in French Guiana.
Skynet 5D telecommunications satellite will be providing services for the British Defense Ministry as well as for NATO member states. This was the eights satellite of Skynet series put into orbit by Ariane carrier rockets.
Mexsat Bicentenario is a Mexican satellite manufactured in the United States and is intended to provide telecommunication services for the Mexican Transportation and Communications Ministry.
