INFORMATION ON THE LAUNCH OF AN EARTH OBSERVATION SATELLITE

At the request of the Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the information contained in the annex on the launch of an earth observation satellite "Kwangmyongsong-3"(2), detailing the launch period and falling area coordinates, is brought to the attention of Member Governments and international organizations.

Mr. Secretary General,
It is my pleasure to inform you of the decision of the Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to launch earth observation satellite "Kwangmyongsong-3"(2) pursuant to the state plan for space development.
In recognition of the obligations of the DPRK as a member state of the International Maritime Organization (lMO) to observe the provisions of Resolution 706 adopted by the General Assembly of the IMO at its 17th session, I have enclosed herewith the launch period and dangerous area coordinates.
I take this opportunity to wish you greater success in your work.
