BAE SYSTEMS WINS $132 MILLION COSMIC CONTRACT

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo – BAE Systems has been awarded the Concepts and Operations for Space and Missile Defense Integration Capabilities (COSMIC) contract for $132 million from the U.S. Army. BAE Systems will provide system and sub-system integration, engineering and analysis, operations and maintenance, and prototyping and development support to the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Future Warfare Center (FWC). The total cumulative value of the 10-year contract could reach $482 million, if all options are exercised.

Space and Missile Defense Command and outside customers can use the contract vehicle for a wide spectrum of system integration, engineering and technical services to simultaneously support the FWC responsibilities ranging from future Concept Development to Command and Control (C2) systems integration. The services support system integrator expertise in the disciplines of Combat Development, Force Development, System Engineering and Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, and Facilities.

“This award continues our 15-year relationship with the Army Space and Missile Defense Community,” said Chuck Thomas, BAE Systems’ director of Army and Joint Programs. “We look forward to continuing our support to the Future Warfare Center as it transitions concepts that enhance Army and joint warfighting capabilities.”

Work will be performed by employees of BAE Systems primarily in Colorado Springs, Colo., Huntsville, Ala. and the Washington, D.C. area.
