EXTERNAL TANK-119 RETURNS TO MICHOUD ASSEMBLY FACILITY

NEW ORLEANS, LA, October 6th, 2005 -- External Tank-119 is transported down Saturn Boulevard at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans on October 3. ET-119 arrived at the facility for additional retrofitting work after a five-day trip from Kennedy Space Center. The return trip originally scheduled for late August had to be postponed because of damage Hurricane Katrina inflicted upon New Orleans. Lockheed Martin built ET-119 at the NASA facility in New Orleans. The tank is scheduled to fly on the next Space Shuttle flight, STS-121, next year. A photo of ET-119’s return is available at http://www.lockheedmartin.com/michoud Look left and click only on “Michoud Image Gallery.”
