Northrop Grumman Offers Comprehensive Agilent Technologies' ADS Design Kits for Velocium GaAs HEMT and HBT Processes

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. - June 12, 2003 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC) Space Technology sector is making available three new design kits for the Agilent Technologies Advanced Design System electronic design automation (EDA) software.

The kits, which provide the efficiency of a complete front-to-back MMIC simulation and layout capability in an integrated design flow, support gallium arsenide (GaAs) 0.15um and 0.1um pHEMT and 1um HBT processes used for high-performance digital, RF and mixed-signal MMICs worldwide.

The new product design kits and associated library components contain device model sets optimized for millimeter-wave, high-data-rate time domain, low-noise and power applications. The libraries allow the customer to benefit from the experience of Agilent's EDA software and Northrop Grumman Space Technology's highly reliable and repeatable advanced process performance.

"These new design kits are the most extensive representation of Northrop Grumman Space Technology's GaAs pHEMT and HBT processes to date," said Mike Smith, general manager foundry sales, Velocium Products, the business unit responsible for the marketing of Northrop Grumman Space Technology's foundry services. "Customers who successfully leverage our advanced process technologies to produce differentiating MMIC and system performance will now benefit from the efficiency of a complete front-to-back MMIC simulation and layout design solution."

"Our customers must win the time-to-market race to remain competitive," said Riccardo Giacometti, foundry program manager, Agilent EEsof EDA Division. "The Velocium design kits, which integrate Velocium's HEMT and HBT technologies into ADS, provides our common customers with a streamlined and robust MMIC design flow resulting in increased designer productivity and reduced probability of errors."

The Velocium product design kits and associated library components are available free of charge to Northrop Grumman Space Technology foundry users. They can be downloaded from Northrop Grumman Space Technology's ftp site by contacting Velocium Products. The product design kits are optimized for a variety of applications including power, low-noise, millimeter-wave and wireline.
