
MICHOUD ASSEMBLY FACILITY TO CLOSE FOR TROPICAL STORM ISIDORE
NEW ORLEANS, LA., September 25th, 2002 -- The NASA Michoud Assembly Facility will close at 3 p.m. today to all but essential support activities. The closure is in anticipation of adverse weather conditions due to Tropical Storm Isidore.
The facility will remain closed until 3 p.m. Thursday, September 26, or until weather conditions improve sufficiently to allow safe access by facility personnel.
Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Michoud Operations operates the Michoud Assembly Facility for NASA, and designs and assembles large aluminum and composite structures such as the Space Shuttle External Tank for aerospace and other applications.
