Jul 27, 2001

Israel Aircraft Industries' MBT Division has been awarded a contract worth about $110 million from ImageSat International, to develop and produce the first in a series of new EROS B (Earth Resources Observation Satellite) commercial satellites.

Ben-Gurion International Airport, Israel, July 27, 2001 - Israel Aircraft Industries' MBT Division has been awarded a contract worth about $110 million from ImageSat International, to develop and produce the first in a series of new EROS B (Earth Resources Observation Satellite) commercial satellites. The contract also covers adaptation of the existing ground control and tracking stations.

The EROS B satellite is scheduled to be launched by the end of 2003.

The EROS B satellite will be one of the world's most advanced commercial observation satellites, providing high resolution images, as well as color images to a large number of ImageSat customers.

EROS B is a continuation of the series of commercial satellites manufactured by MBT for ImageSat. EROS A, the first satellite in the series, was successfully launched in December 2000 and is currently providing services to users, after completion of its IOT (In Orbit Test).

MBT's space business is continuing to increase each year. Overall sales for 2001 are expected to exceed $300 million.

Another of MBT's space programs is the AMOS 2 satellite, which is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2002. MBT is also developing a new generation of microsatellites.

Today MBT provides a wide spectrum of products and services, encompassing space and satellite systems, missiles and related weapon systems, "smart" laser, radar and electro-optical guided munitions, and large scale system design, integration and commissioning for both military and civilian applications.
