30th Security Forces Squadron - Military Working Dogs Section

The 30th Security Forces Squadron, Military Working Dog Section, has, as of mid-2001, 9 dogs assigned all of which are patrol trained and are also either trained to find explosives or illegal drugs.

The mission of the unit is to continuously provide Vandenberg Air Force Base and the Department of Defense with highly trained and capable Military Working Dog teams.

The unit's dog teams enforce military laws and regulations, provide deterrence and detection of illegal drugs, deter terrorist actions through detection of explosives and protect personnel and property.

The Military Working Dog teams routinely support law enforcement, security, and space launch operations.

Vandenberg's dog teams also support California state and local police agencies, the US Secret Service, State Department, US Customs Agency and deploy to locations around the world in peace time, in time of war and in support of operations other than war.
