Systemwide

The following are a list of technologies or programs that have been developed for the purposes of border and transportation security (BTS). These technologies can be employed across more than one area of BTS and are, therefore, considered to be systemwide technologies. For example, the use of biometric technologies can be employed not only as an airport security measure but as a land border security measure as well. These technologies/programs have been developed as a way to secure U.S. ports and borders from illegal and terrorist activity without impeding on the flow of travel or commerce.
