- Treasury Sanctions Mexican Arms Trafficker Supplying U.S.-Sourced Weapons to CJNG US Treasury 28 Feb 2023 -- Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned Jesus Cisneros Hernandez, a Mexican arms trafficker, pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 14059 for having provided, or having attempted to provide, financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services in support of a person designated under E.O. 14059, namely, the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG). CJNG is a violent Mexico-based organization that traffics a significant proportion of the illicit fentanyl and other deadly drugs that enter the United States. Today's action was taken in coordination with the Government of Mexico and is the result of OFAC's collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
