COVID-19 Spreads in Tianjin City, China

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK

Beijing, September 2 (KCNA) -- According to the Chinese Huan Qiu network, COVID-19 has recently spread in 51 streets of 14 districts of Tianjin City rapidly.

In this regard, the president of the Tianjin City Center for Prevention and Control of Disease briefed on the current spread of the malignant epidemic in the city and its root on September 1.

The epidemic, which occurred among football players of the Zhongbang Football Stadium on August 25, infected their family members and spread via restaurants.

The result of the test showed that there was little difference between the gene arrangement of the first person infected with the virus and the gene arrangement of the malignant epidemic recently spread in south Korea.

The virus was detected in frozen foodstuffs imported from south Korea found in the house of the first person infected with the virus.

Saying that the current spread of the malignant disease by the infected cases has mainly been clear through an epidemic survey, the president of the Tianjin City Centre for Prevention and Control of Disease stressed that there is a very great possibility that the root of the epidemic spread is caused by the products imported from south Korea.

The malignant virus was detected in clothes and raw materials imported from south Korea in Beijing City, Shaoxing City of Zhejiang Province, Changzhou City of Jiangsu Province, Dalian City of Liaoning Province and others of China in March and April last and thus emergency measures were taken.

The crises of the spread of the malignant virus through object surfaces occurred in China on several times.

Typically, on August 3 the General Administration of Customs of China announced that it tentatively suspended the import of citrus fruits and frozen seafood from Taiwan as harmful living things and novel coronavirus were detected on their wrappers. In late June the Macao authorities of China tentatively halted the import of mangos from Taiwan for the novel coronavirus found on their packing papers.

On July 1 the World Health Organization announced that people can be infected with virus when they touch their eyes, noses and mouths with their hands after touching the surfaces or objects infected with virus.

The infection that broke out in Tianjin City currently is a clear proof that the malignant pandemic disease spreads through the surfaces of objects infected with virus. This also shows that high vigilance should be kept against the goods from outside and they should be thoroughly disinfected. -0-
