Measures Taken for Suspect Cases in Ryanggang Province

Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- According to information of the State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters, four fever cases suspected of being infected with malignant epidemic occurred at a unit in Ryanggang Province, the DPRK on August 23.
In this regard, the State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters and relevant emergency epidemic prevention units immediately locked down the area where fever cases occurred and at the same time urgently mobilized rapid mobile anti-epidemic teams and rapid diagnosis and treatment team to carry out nucleic acid tests and genetic base sequence analysis for suspect cases, while taking measures to probe into the cause of the fever outbreak.
They pay attention to the fact that those with fever had not been infected by the malignant epidemic and ensure that the moving of persons is forbidden in the relevant area until the source of the fever outbreak will be looked into and confirmed.
According to the detailed analysis of anti-epidemic situation across the country as regards the occurrence of the suspect cases in Ryanggang Province, there have been no persons infected with the malignant epidemic since the spread of malignant virus was exterminated in the country.
The State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters dispatches the talented epidemiological, virology and test experts to the area where the suspect cases occurred, while taking steps to trace all persons, who connected with the suspect cases, and persons going to and from the relevant area and keep them under strict medical observation. -0-
