Anti-epidemic Capability against Climate Change Reinforced

Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- Foresighted anti-epidemic counter-measures are taken timely in the DPRK to cope with downpour and gale that have hit the country as a whole recently due to the seasonal rainy front.

The state emergency epidemic prevention headquarters and relevant sectors issued instructions and assignments urging each unit to correctly judge any possible form of crisis to be entailed by disastrous abnormal weather just after getting a warning alert and cope with it positively and promptly.

Every sector and unit is actively carrying on the work to find out and remove all elements dangerous to the anti-epidemic environment and deal with them.

More anti-epidemic stations are installed at relevant areas and measures to increase the number of anti-epidemic workers, medicines and medical facilities are taken.

Emergency anti-epidemic units at all levels continuously reconfirm the mobile readiness of personnel and equipment involved in rapid mobile anti-epidemic teams and rapid diagnosis and treatment teams while taking well-timed measures.

The public health sector promptly sets up treatment centers in provinces, cities and counties specialized in the treatment of epidemic diseases in addition to taking emergency supply measures based on thoroughly calculating the needed amount of medicines, medical appliances and supplies.

Medics of the Korean People's Army maintain promptness and accuracy in supplying medicines to residents of the capital city and contribute to ensuring maximum stability of the anti-epidemic environment while sharing good experience and successes.

Taking prospective measures to carefully confirm and stockpile the type and amount of medicines needed in medicine supply according to the date and location, they conduct hygienic information service to prevent an enteric epidemic and various kinds of poisonings. -0-
