• NW China's Lanzhou detects 87 positive cases amid sixth mass screening; 9,383 residents under quarantine Global Times 18 Jul 2022 -- The main urban area in Lanzhou, Northwest China's Gansu Province, has conducted a sixth round of mass nucleic acid testing, taking more than 2.19 million samplings, with 87 positive cases detected. Over 9,300 residents have been put under centralized quarantine, the city authorities said on Monday.
• SW China's Chengdu hit by faster spreading Omicron variant BA.2.12.1 Global Times 18 Jul 2022 -- The strain causing the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, was identified by genetic sequencing as the Omicron variant BA.2.12.1, the Health Commission of Sichuan Province said on its official WeChat account on Sunday, noting that its homologous sequence has not been found in other local outbreaks in China.

• HKSAR gov't continues tracing COVID-19 through sewage surveillance People's Daily 18 Jul 2022 -- The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said Sunday that it will distribute around 250,000 sets of COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) kits as part of a follow-up on the recent detection of the COVID-19 virus in sewage samples.

• India's Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 200 Cr India PIB 18 Jul 2022 -- India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 200 Cr (2,00,04,61,095) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,63,34,227 sessions.
• COVID - 19 Vaccination Update - Day 549 India PIB 18 Jul 2022 -- India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 200.30 Crore (2,00,30,31,493) today. More than 25 lakh (25,41,392) Vaccine Doses have been administered till 7 pm today. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late tonight.
• Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Availability in States/UTs India PIB 18 Jul 2022 -- The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide COVID 19 vaccination started on 16th January 2021. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

• Taiwan reports 18,003 new COVID-19 cases, 48 deaths CNA 18 Jul 2022 -- Taiwan reported 18,003 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, all but 454 of which were domestic infections, and 48 deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
• Taiwan reports 2 new domestic BA.5 subvariant cases CNA 18 Jul 2022 -- Taiwan reported two new local cases of the BA.5 Omicron subvariant of the COVID-19 virus on Monday, with both having been infected after carrying out airport pickups, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

North Korea
