Students in Beijing are also expected to return to school in the near future provided there is no resurgence of the virus, according to officials.
• Hong Kong to distribute about 60,000 RAT kits following sewage COVID-19 detection People's Daily 04 Jun 2022 -- The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said Friday that it will distribute about 60,000 sets of COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) kits to people in an area of the city as part of a follow-up on recent detection of the COVID-19 virus in sewage samples.
• Chinese mainland reports 21 new local confirmed COVID-19 cases People's Daily 04 Jun 2022 -- The Chinese mainland Friday reported 21 locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 11 in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and five each in Beijing and Shanghai, according to the National Health Commission's report Saturday.

• Suspect In Litvinenko Poisoning Dies After Reportedly Contracting COVID-19 In Moscow RFE/RL 04 Jun 2022 -- Businessman and ex-KGB agent Dmitry Kovtun, one of two Russian men accused by Britain of poisoning Kremlin critic Aleksandr Litvinenko in London in 2006, has died after contracting COVID-19 in Moscow, Russian state media reported on June 4.

India

• India's Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 193.96 Cr India PIB 04 Jun 2022 -- India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 193.96 Cr (1,93,96,47,071) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,47,05,065 sessions.
• COVID - 19 Vaccination Update - Day 505 India PIB 04 Jun 2022 -- India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 194 Crore landmark milestone (194,07,80,539) today. More than 10 lakh (10,28,295) Vaccine Doses have been administered till 7 pm today. The daily vaccination tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports for the day by late tonight.
• Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Availability in States/UTs India PIB 04 Jun 2022 -- The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide COVID 19 vaccination started on 16th January 2021. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

• Taiwan reports 68,151 COVID-19 cases, 152 deaths CNA 04 Jun 2022 -- Taiwan reported 68,151 new COVID-19 cases -- 68,118 domestically transmitted and 33 imported cases -- and a new single-day high of 152 deaths from the disease on Saturday, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
