Anti-Epidemic Campaign in Full Swing in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 31 (KCNA) -- A newly organized COVID-19 treatment and research team operates in the DPRK to develop treatment methods for scientifically controlling the spread of the malignant virus.

It comprises experts from educational institutions, central hospitals and hygienic and anti-epidemic organs. It orients its study on finding optimum treatment methods and confirming the days of virus-releasing by those infected and recovery time and on enhancing the efficiency of treatment medicines.

Since its inauguration, the team has drawn up the treatment ways for those with fever of different degrees on the basis of the compilation of the patients' appeal, their clinical history, symptoms and test findings.

By intensively using modern and traditional medication methods, it scrupulously carries on the work to confirm, revise and supplement the contents of the existing guide for treating COVID-19.

Research on how long the virus survives in those infected and how to confirm the recovery time and the standard recovery index is underway.

The team has also carried out the work to evaluate the rationality of various sample-collecting methods, enhance the accuracy of its test results to the maximum, assess the clinical efficiency of various treatment medicines based on the state of improvement of clinical symptoms of patients and conduct the genetic analysis of the virus. -0-
