Two crew members of a fishing boat tested positive for COVID-19 at a centralized isolation site on Wednesday, raising the number of infected crew members to 17, said a statement issued by Yancheng, East China's Jiangsu Province.

According to public information, there were 18 crew members on the fishing boat. On Saturday, Yancheng health authorities found that 15 members on the boat tested positive for COVID-19. The other three crew members were immediately placed under centralized quarantine.

The official release show that the infections were caused by the crew's exposure to COVID-19 carriers from other cities, where the fishing boat was operating in outer city waters from March 27 to 30. In addition, the crew dined with three businessmen from other cities who tested positive for COVID-19 on March 30.

The Yancheng city government reminded the public not to leave the city if not necessary and to avoid coming to Yancheng from other cities if possible.

On Wednesday, Jiangsu Province reported three COVID-19 cases and 75 asymptomatic infections, health authorities said.
