NE China's Jilin builds 19 makeshift hospitals amid surging COVID-19 infections

Northeast Chinas Jilin Province has built 19 makeshift hospitals in a bid to admit surging COVID-19 patients as of Monday.
The province is still facing high numbers of infections. On Monday alone, 1,086 confirmed cases and 907 asymptomatic cases were reported.
According to Zhang Li from the Jilin Provincial Health Commission, Changchun has built eight makeshift hospitals, Jilin City 10 and Huichuan one. Other cities are also building makeshift hospitals to ensure sufficient medical resources are available as infections rise.
Multiple districts in the city will start a new round of mass testing on Monday afternoon which will run for 24 hours.
Chnagchun reported on Monday 706 confirmed cases and 330 asymptomatic cases respectively. Changchun already finished 11 rounds of mass nucleic acid testing.
Jilin Province adopted the combination of nucleic acid testing and antigen self-testing. So far, the province has allocated some 500,000 antigen self-testing kits covering all nursing homes and child care centers, as well as students and teachers from 69 universities.
