Taipei, March 15 (CNA) Taiwan reported no new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases on Tuesday for the second time in March, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

Taiwan last reported zero new domestic cases on March 10, and prior to that, Jan. 1.

Of the 39 imported cases reported Tuesday, 10 were travelers who tested positive on arrival in Taiwan. The CECC did not release any information regarding the vaccination status of the imported cases.

Currently, the CECC is monitoring three clusters and one individual case, all of unknown origin, in Taiwan.

Genome sequencing has been performed on the infected individuals in all three clusters, which showed they were all infected with the same version of the Omicron variant.

To date, Taiwan has confirmed 21,402 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in early 2020, including 15,490 domestically transmitted infections.

With no deaths reported Tuesday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 fatalities in the country remained at 853.
